BLOWER MOTOR...OR RESISTOR?
BLOWER MOTOR...OR RESISTOR?
Ok, here's the deal, my blower seemed to stop working a while back..although when i hit a hard bump it turns on anf works at any speed. Today i figured id buy a blower motor,no one has it in stock(big shock). So when i got home i had the car running and whacked the back of the motor housing with a ratchet and it turned on.Is this the motor itself or the resistor.amp? i have digital climate control.
From what you describe, it definately sounds like the motor.
You can remove the motor and check to see if it runs properly.
Side Question: When was the last time you cleaned it up? The dirt and grime getting in there without the cleaning can easily cause your motor to run harder leading it to fail sometime.

Certainly sounds like the blower motor. However I would get it fixed soon. If you keep leaving the fan turned on and it's not turning, eventually that resistor is going to burn out as well.

mine went last week, so now at full power its as if it was on the lowest speed setting if anything at all.
My motor/filter should be here today... so...hopefully I didnt hurt it too much.
What is the resistor exactly? part of the motor?
Ok, well i just picked up a used one from the local "junkyard" in worcester mass....40k on it 30 bucks...that did the trick, i swear to god it feels like i got flames coming from my vents now lol....
