2K to 03 Headlight Swap

Hey guys, I've got a 2K SE and I was looking at how much more I like the headlight assy's on the 02 and 03 models. Does anyone know if these are directly swappable? Brackets, wiring harness, etc. Also I am uncertain if the headlights on the 02 and 03 models suck more power than the 2K and if I need to upgrade the wiring harness.

Thanks

the 02-03 comes with the a new wire harness. the swap easily, just replace the bracket from white to gray and you are done. wire harness like $35 bucks and the plastic bracket behind the lights like $3 bucks, don't remember when I did mine.

it's not a bad swap. i just did it a few months ago for another org member. defectively a HUGE upgrade. never had to mess with any brackets iirc.

Its a direct swap, its real easy to do as well, just need the headlights, wiring harness, and hi-beam bulb plugs (9004 IIRC). The 02-03 use an HID system, so when you rewire there is not added strain to already existing system.

All details about the swap can be found here:
http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...-how-here.html

The harnesses can be ordered from DaveB, the Hi-bean harness can be found at Walmart or any autoparts store.

BTW ebay projectors are garbage unless you do a projector retrofit and by the time you do the upgrade on projectors you'll have spent more then what it would have cost for the 02-03 headlights

Hey Thanks ALOT for the information, especially the link to the retrofit topic. Much appreciated.

As per the question regarding ebay, I took at look on there, and I suppose I need to decide which look I prefer. Though now that you "made me look", I see a set made by Eagle Eyes

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-...Q5fAccessories

Damn what a long link. Anyway it looks like they MAY have taken all the hard work out of it as these things were more popular.

Thanks again.

But still just as bad lighting.

The picture they show of the angel eye lighting are definetly not the ones in the ebay ad. They look more like 02-03 lights with angels eyes (notice the ebays are a full circle, the ones in the pic are open at the top and not a complete circle)

True your right. Atleast the light output will be be better then the projectors I'm sure. Cause those are terrible.

+1

the reflector has no way to correctly form a usable beam infact most of the light blind people in oncoming traffic, this has all been discussed before.

You're better off with 2k2-2k3 headlights rather than Ebay projectors. That or you retro fit the ebay projectors with better projectors.

Will I be able to take these apart and put some TSX projectors in the headlights?
