Driver Side Wiper Arm Not Moving

It was a bad feeling this morning when I saw the passenger side wiper moving while the drivers side stayed frozen to the windshield. I manually unstuck the drivers side, it did move up and down ~3" at the end of the wiper. I imagine there may be a weak link the mechanics that is easily replaced? Has anyone had a similar experience? What did you do to fix it? Or how much did the dealer charge?

I am at work now. If I had access to tools I would be opening it up right now to figure out which parts to buy.

Thanks

possible.

Whats happened to me on 3 maximas is the linkage broke off, not that the nut was loose. If it is that a new one is like 30 bucks from nissan. a ***** to install tho imo, not much room and whenever i'v had to do it it's wet and rain/snow etc...and while you might be able to get the linkage to 'pop' back on it will pop out again at the slightest amount of pressure if not immediately. it's a one time on, one time off connector.

i wish nissan would put heaters in the glass where to wipers sit, as other car manufactures do...on a side note i also wish they'd put the 'washers' on the arms instead of having two ugly black plastic things sticking out of the hoods.

Thanks Guys,
It was the nut. After reading "jasonmax's" comments I decided to go into the parking lot and check; I did have a screwdriver and pair of pliers. I believe what happened was:

The wipers froze in the up position (1st time I can remember). When the motor tried to pull the wiper down it unscrewed the bolt from the nut. Usually my wipers freeze in the down position. When the motor ties to tork them up, if anything the bolt would tighten into the nut.

I have been very lucky to not have the linkage pop.
