generally yes if it has any glass in it or filler. but the 40 series don't.

 

I used to run a flowmaster 60 series on mine. I still have it at my house...

Viperboy want to buy it? Its a 2.25" in/out, same as stock diameter piping 60 series.

Yep I tried it Yesterday, Not a good Sound. lol, but hey Whatever it was an experiment.

 

Hmm... I don't know, it sounded good on mine. But I did have a Bosal OE muffler at the time. But I don't know if that would make any difference over the stock one.

 

It sounded good at idle. But with throttle it sounded like an s-10 with exhaust, just like a pssshhhh-ing sound. i dunno I still think that magnaflow sounds the best on 3.5's but thats just my opinion.

I was going to start a new thread until I remembered I made this thread a while ago. I just put in a test pipe today and I like how throaty it sounds, but here are a few things I would like...

1. I want to hear it in the car. It seems like with the test pipe, it got quieter in the car, but the exhaust seems pretty loud outside the car. Would 2.5" straight pipe from the test pipe back to the flowmaster be too loud inside or outside the car? I define loud inside as not being able to hear other people in the car or insane drone and loud outside the car is normal driving is obnoxious.

2. I know everyone wants their Maxima to sound like a Z/G35, some exhaust combinations come close, but is there any that sound really close while only touching pieces from the cat back? The stock cat got destroyed in the process of putting in the test pipe (read: cut through because of rusted to **** bolts!) so I would have to use the test pipe. Would a Magnaflow make it sound better? Leave the resonator? Delete the res and go 2.5"?? I just want opinions to see what people think.

i have a flowmaster 40 and here is a clip of it..... the only other mods i have is a timing bump and intake (00 max)

 

Thanks for the vid, the 3.5 sounds a little throatier, especially with a test pipe. But it sounds good.
