throttle body mod....Q45......

Ok, ive heard of this suggested at the www.maximadriver.com site, it says something about changing the stock throttle body to maybe a Q45 throttle body, which has like a 4.0 engine, hence more airflow than stock TB, but it also mentions that no one has tried this mod yet.....this mod makes sense for increasing airflow and adding a little extra power, but is it even possible?

i think you would need the intake manifolds as well, there are 2 of them , to really get any usable power. and more than like ly it will not be worth the trouble. HOWEVER i am just guessing , and using my experience from tryint to swap a 2000 tb/inatke manifold to my 97. but you could be the first to do it and that's always worth something

You can't swap the intake manifold from a V8 to a V6. The throttle body is technically possible, but I think it was looked into and found that ours is big enough.

The only intake manifold swap I can think of is putting the 5th gen manifold with variable runners on a 4th gen. It would make a good bit of HP and it would bolt up where the old one did, but you'd have to rig some sort of switch to operate the runners...

Screw the brakes ... Q45 ENGINE with supa-charger.

Plus the INDY/CART parts might be swappable.

Extrude honing a plasitc manifold, would that work? There was one guy who ported his cast manifold on a 4th gen and it got him zilch. Even after removing a few POUND of material.

I was wondering how you did that with plastic myself...
