The blue bulbs arent brighter but they are blue . All you need is the 8000k or 10000k D2R bulb.

6000k is a good mix of output and blueness. it isnt enough to really effect output but it makes you stand out a bit from a crowd. you dont have to worry about getting pulled over for it as much either. so like kzoosh said, all you need to do is pick up some d2r bulbs

I did 6k HID's. Did that for a little more color. I would not suggest anything more than that.

6ks arn't very blue but sometimes it depends on the manufacture i'v seen 6ks that are bluer then my 8ks...with the 8ks i have, the output sucks compared to a 4300k. looking back i'd go 6k.

I have 6k in my '96 and 12k/8k in the '03. Output is better in the '96 then in the '03 believe it or not. Don't go higher then 6k. I wish I didn't in the '03. Oh and all you need is D2R bulbs and your set.

ive got 8k IN MY 2k3 HID headlights. Compared to the stock 5400k, the output diminishes. Im getting ready to go back to the stocks for the time being, until i fell like trying out a pair of 6k's

Here are the 6k's I have. They are the mydepots.com ones. My complaint about these is they don't have shields on the bulbs like the stockers, so the cutoff is not as clean as it should be.

Like everyone else said, I wouldn't go higher than 6k but that's your preference. Just FYI, driving with really blue light makes your driving in the rain treacherous.

Online, OEM bulbs, Ebay, some random HID website, here on the forums in the group deals section...the choice is yours

A quick search would have turned up something, but prices REALLY vary...the al CHEAPO ones can go as low as 45 bucks, oeratic sells aftermarket ones for 60 bucks, and on ebay, you can find an OEM set for 120...either way, it sure as hell beats paying 100 PER BULB at a dealer

Check out this thread........Operatic sells bulbs and HID kits, and he has excellent prices

The blue that these 6k and higher tries to imitate the cut off line from a projector that when viewed far away looks BLUE! Why would you want to drive around with blue *** lights anyways, go to hidplanet.com and do some HW and get yourself some projectors if you want blue plus the light output of a 4300k. My hella gen III blew recently and I ended up buying a cheap ebay replacement, BAD mistake there is SUCH a big difference with the OEM hellas and the fake ebays. But at least both lights are on for me, my point is buy OEM you get what you paid for. And those HID kits SUCKS!

Visibility is slightly crappier with the blue bulbs. The ones I have are as blue as they get. I like them a lot, and I think they are worth it. Funny thing is I got them on ebay for about $50. They are "rated" at 20000K.

i have 6k in the head lights and a hid fog kit with 6k bulbs from maxima best. i always thought the fogs were a little bluer but from what im told, in a smaller housing such as the fogs they will always apear that way.

one of my headlights just blew and i ordered another set, but although these were still 6k i could clearly see he must have changed distributers cause it did not look like other 6k.

when i replaced, it was much bluer! it made my other, original 6k headlight look white/purple so i changed both. now it makes the fogs which always looked bluer to me look white/purple.

needless to say i guess its in the eye of the beholder, cause i do not like my heads this blue.

anyone that likes them blue and still wants output, i have the perfect pair. i have never seen 8k but i would guess they would look like ones i have and yet they still give the same output as my original 6k. its just that these are so blue made other 6k look white/purple.

i got these from automax 95 and if anyone wants them, 40 shipped
