Steering Wheel

Does anyone know if it's legal to change my steering wheel and removing the airbag in the State of California?

You can't do **** in Cali. It's a federal law to tamper with the airbag system. They wont even take out my pass. side for my PS2. They say a law suit could be filled against you. Plus, it an insurance co finds out, they will decline any claim and cut you off. Good lord don't get into an accident.

I think we need to look into this further. I recall a Federal court case less than a year ago that allowed the consumer to disable/remove and airbag system. This was during the time when airbags were killing babies in car seats and short adults. This was due to the aibag system's inability to adjust inflation speed. Anyone remember this?

I believe that you can only turn it off in a truck or something because there is no where else to put the car seat besides the front seat..so the babies had to sit in the front. Not sure what your allowed to do with cars though.
