intake question

o.k I have a 2k max with a 3.0 [sorry i dont know the code] with a black plastic intake. I have read alot about spacers and blocking plates, but there all for the 3.5 2002 max or the 1999 and older. So my question is :is there anything to improve my intake? Or does my stock intake just suck?

I dont think there's anything for A33 VQ30. I would say just leave your intake alone.

The 00VI hardly sucks, it's one of the best performing intake manifolds you can get for the VQ30.

There's really no need for intake spacers with it, and there's nothing to block off.

Search, you'll find all your answers (which you should know, considering you joined in '01).

the spacers work to separate the intake manifold from the engine block so it doesnt get hot but since the de-k intake is plastic it doesnt absorb heat like the other cast intakes.

If its so good why dont[or maybe thay have] tried to put it on the 3.5 or older 3.0s. yes I have been a member since 2001,but I thought maybe I was missing something that might help.

people swap in onto the 95-99 vq30 all the time and i doubt it will fit on the vq35. that "sucky" intake is a major reason that the 00-01 maximas have 32 more hp than the 95-99 maximas

there are tons of intake threads on the forum, do a little searching because this one is going nowhere fast

You've been around since '01 but you've NEVER heard of the 00VI? That's gotta be a record. Seriously, it's one of (if not the) best intake mods you can have for the VQ30.

IIRC there has been an attempt to use an 00VI on a VQ35.
