I have ABS. TCS, and SLIP lights. Checked the ABS codes and I am getting Both rear abs sensors as problem areas. I replaced the right abs sensor, drove for a while then checked for codes again. I am still getting the codes for the RIGHT as well as the left abs sensors. If it is not the individual sensor , where should I look? thanks.

 

What year max? Did you reset the code and have it come back or did you accidently pull a "history" code after replacing the sensor?

What codes do you have?

Does the light come on immediately after starting it or only after driving it?

This and the actual code pulled will tell you if it is an electrical problem or a speed sensor problem...

Usually if the sensor is bad the light won't come on until you actually drive the vehicle and the car detects the wrong speed coming from the sensor.. unless the sensor is electronically the code won't come on right away..
Basically: an electrical open (including an open in the speed sensor) and the light comes on before driving... A bad reluctor wheel (or wheel bearing) or a speed sensor and the light comes on while driving..

Both sensors have their own power/ground going to it's individual sensor. They don't share any ground points,etc...So If you're 100% Positive the sensors and reluctor wheel (or probably wheel bearings in this case) are good you may have a bad ebcm (electronic brake control module) or whatever Nissan calls it..

A little more info would be helpfull in diagnosing the concern..If you're sure the sensors are good, I'll post up a schumatic.

 

if you didn't clear the code it may take a while for it to "go away" Clear the code, then go for a drive and see if it comes back.

 

you have to clear the light. if you replace it and not clear it the light may go away but once you hook up a scanner you will see the history, unless cleared!

 

All 3 lights are still on even though I have driven over 1000 miles after replacing the rear right sensor. The codes for abs are 31 and 35. I am not sure where to look to diagnose the problem. The dealer could charge me more than the car is worth I'm afraid.
