Stillen drilled rotors & pads -- brake squeak anyone?

I replaced the front rotors with Stillen drilled ones about 3K miles ago, and also replaced all pads with Stillen ones.

After the first 500 miles or so (break-in period), my brakes started to squeal like a pig. Still do. Haven't had the chance to check whether it comes from the front (Stillen rotors + Stillen pads), or from the rear (Stock rotors + Stillen pads). I would suspect the rear, but it would be quite sad for Stillen if it were the front.

Anyone with similar experience?

oh, yes... and the shims on the Stillen pads suck, they are way open. I have a constant judder in the front of the car (feels like disaligned wheels, but it's not). I've been told it's because of the shims. Thoughts?

i have a very similar problem but not w/ the stillen pads

i have the stillen x-drilled brembo rotors w/ portorfield r4-s pads...i installed them w/ a guy at work (car dealership) and they were ok for a little bit but started to squeak a lot...the braking is much better but i can't deal w/ that noise

they seem to only squeak when i am stopping slowly (as in gradually braking where i don't have my foot down hard)

Yes, exactly. Only when applying moderate pressure. When braking hard, not a peep.

I was told to try some original Nissan pads. There are 2 kinds: "the white box" and "the blue box" heh. "The blue box" is better... and more expensive of course. I think that's what the car comes with originally.

Think I should get those or go aftermarket again?

Did you apply any lubricant on the back of the pads?

I had them installed at a shop, as it was done together with the rotors. I am not sure if they put anything or not.

It it too late to apply some now? Would that be one of those brake sprays that people talk about?

No, it's not too late, but someone will have to take the pads off and apply the stuff. Look for anti-squeal for brakes or anti-seize.
