LED tails
OK maybe I did something wrong. I replaced my tails on an 03 se with LED tails I ordered online. Got done everything lights up beautifully but now I have a red warning light on my console lower left and it shows lights. Not sure what thats all about. Lights are working fine. The plugs were the same as the ones on the factory lights. Any ideas? Did I trip something because I didn't disonnect the battery when I replaced em? TIA

I've done the same mod but have the (2) 6 ohm loaders connected. I thought I connected them correctly because they don't blink quick.
I also have the double lights lit up in the dash. I think it might be because I spliced a wire accidently but just reattached it to the same wire. Always thought that was my issue. I also don't have my rear side marker lights in. Maybe this is the reason.
Do your LED's blink fast when you turn left or right? If you do you'll need to pick up some 6 ohm loaders.

This is an easy DIY. Most lights come with new epoxy to replace the old. Should be 4 screws on each light. Then get some splicers and splice your 6 ohm loaders in and change your bulbs. Place epoxy around the old lining and stick them back in place. Screw the lights back in and screw the ohm loader down. Pretty easy.. Half hour install

You'll need these to get rid of the lights.

Scroll down to load resistor kits.

So one resistor per tail light since there is only 1 set of wires exiting the unit to the wiring harness? My assumption is the 1 resistor will cover the entire bank of leds, right?

and clear coat with duplicolor clear coat.
Just take your time on the coats go really light until you get to the color you want wet sand 1000 -1500- then 2000 to get it smooth then clear coat again go slow.
wait 48 hours after clearcoat then bolt em on.
mask your paint off around it and use rubbing compound and buff out orange peel with a sheepskin pad.
then use fine grit polishing compound with a microfiber pad.
then use polish and sealer with another microfiber pad.
I still have a bit of orange peel so I will be recompounding when I get the energy.
i took pics along the way but I need a cord for the camera will upload when I can.

I put LED's in my tails/stop lights and get the bulb out warning. I bought resistors to fix it but will need two resistors for each one? When the headlights are on, the tails are on and the bulb out warning is lit all the time. during the day and when the lights are off, it only comes on when i hit the brakes.
so will i need two resistors for each LED in the tail?

I have LEDs in every exterior light now. I bought the resistors that V-Leds recommends for the blinkers and the ones for the stop/tails but I only bought one set of two for the tails. I agree, just need to know if I need two sets for the tails.
