maybe a maf prob?

So i started it up this morning and the car began to miss like it was going to stall so i revved it a little so it would not stall after a few min i put it in drive and the car began to shake because the car was missing or something... and now it feels like the power is cutting out at certain rpm. sound like a maf?

no cel, when i rev it, its slow at first and when it gets past 4k it moves faster. and when i let off the gas it dips to like 400 rpm and almost stalls and then goes back to 700 ish

Really hard to say. Both MAF & coil packs can cause your symptoms. However, they are usually accompanied by CEL and codes, namely P0171 or P1320 or P030X.
X being the cylinder number that is misfiring.

I've never had a coil go (two of them) without throwing a code.

I have had a MAF blow without a code. I am about 90% sure it's the MAF, not coils. You are describing safe mode (blown MAF), not a misfire (blown coil).

Go to Autozone to see if any codes are stored. If not, get a new MAF from Dave B.

hello there!

I recall this happening to me a while back... a cerain someone made fun of me about it... acted like it never happens on Nissans and such, only on BMWs... what comes around goes around. Seems like thats true

dont get me wrong i love bmws but some of them have have some problems that are just plain stupid. like random misfires or door trim coming off... and its cost 30k for that? haha
5 series > Maxima
Nissan reliability > bmw reliability
On OBD II like mine, a bad coil WILL throw a code, and in my case it was a cylinder 3 misfire. I replaced the coil and here I am. No codes, no problems. Good thing you took me there to get that coil Derek!

A bad MAF can have stored codes, which sometimes won't show up as a CEL. Funny thing I conveniently have a code reader. I will let you use it if you want derek, just call me man.

Mine is doing the same thing in a way but it's not just a coil code. Had a bad MAF, replaced it. Bad coil, replaced. Now Im getting p0011 and 0021 and worked the entire factory flow chart. Car still has those two codes and runs perfect then like crap and will barely start or drive. HELP!!!
