Who has re-packed their bearings and is it DIY worthy?

I have a 2000 I-30 T that I am using as my current commuter car. Front right bearing just went bad. I had the bearing and the axle replaced at the same time. Wondering who here has messed with greasing their bearings to prevent the bearings going bad and what the procedure is?

Thanks!

Front bearings are sealed units, not serviceable.

Had you searched, you would've found this out.

One such example: http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...maintence.html

Among many others.

Good info, thank you. I did perform a search, but searched "bearings" and not "bearing". Try it yourself... you'll see.

Thanks!

I wonder if the axle nuts are undertorqued from the factory.

Just thinking aloud here....
