Rear suspension rattles and bump stops...

I have a 2002, duh the signature...

The suspension was making a rattling noise while going across a washboard rutted road...almost like something was loose. I will probably get Nissan to look at it at my next oil change...but what specifically should I look for to have them tighten? I would like some suggestions to look at so I can find the problem and make sure they/me fix it.

I don't know if this is related but I have noticed that my driver side rear is more apt to hit the bumpstop than my passenger side. Seems like only on small bumps, I can hear the thud of my driver side. But at an identical bump on the passenger side, nothing. Weird. Any ideas on things that might need adjustment?

welcome to the world of maxima...

all hail the beam.. well, first off, you are feeling the beam axle doing the one thing most of us hate here and many seem to have rattling or thumping over small bumps. You'd be crazy not to have the dealer look at it, I mean, things can and do get left loose. So for safety's sake, get by there.

however, dont be surprised if they dont find anything. In the meantime, make sure your spare, jack and toolkit are properly stowed. That can be a source.
