Thats even worse than the "SE" GXE someone was sellin a while back... ...dosent salvage/rebuildable mean it was wrecked??

 

What does salvage title means? I am new to USA and have difficulty knowing the terms... Also, Since when did nissan makes 4 cylinder Max? Can anyone help me out with this?

 

Salvage title means that the insurance has paid out on the vehicle. It does not necessarily mean that it has been wrecked. Lets say your car was stolen, 2 weeks go by and they havent found it. So the insurance pays you for the vehicle. But the next day your car is found in perect condition. Even though it is in perfect condition, since the insurance paid out, it is salvage. And yeah, it can also mean that your car was wrecked. But usually it is when the damage to the vehicle is more than 50% the value of it. For example... You have a $10,000 car and you crash it. Cost to fix = $6,500. Chances are they will pay the full value of the car(10,000) and the car then becomes salvage.

 

The seller is either a moron when it comes to cars or has a good sense of humor... I actually thought it was a 2 door...

Actually for a vehicle to be declared a total the damage repars plus salvage price of vehicle must exceed the Nada retail price of the vehicle....... Then the owner is given the option of being paid the NADA retail value or paying the salvage price (which usually amounts to about 20 to 15 percent of NADA retail to retain the junk car). If the insurance company keeps it t is handed out to an auto salvege where it is auctioned to licensed rebuilders and other people such as part suppliers where the car may be parted out or rebuilt if there is enough incentive.. Alot of the vehicles that end up ith salvage titles are sold to exporters (who happen to have certain licenses) they then export the vehicles to mexico. Well with this it is given one of three different titles... at least in the state of Texas. All are considered salvage titles. You'll see alot of vehicles being rebuilt after floods...

Have a friend at work who went south to houston after the floods earlier this year and apparently a hospital garage had flooded. One of the doctors had a new Ferrari 360 Modena...... Well because of the biological hazard declared because of the flooded hospital the vehicle could not be auctioned for salvage. The water had only come up past the floorboard on the inside... but this was enough.... He wrote a check for around 127 thousand. The vehicle was then crushed..... Don't you love the law.

 

I wanna see under the hood! Im actually curious to see if they swapped the engine out with a sentra or something. Talk about a literal sleeper!


Anyone notice some of the other nice cars they have on the lot?

Theres 2 other Max's, 3 top end Jags' (but then again, what's a low end Jag?......Oh wait, an X-Type ) and what looks like the tops of some Mercedes in the distance. Wonder if they'll sell me that S-Type as a 3-door 4-Cyl Geo.
