I believe Keving installed one of these. I remember asking him where he got it from.

I got mines installed over the weekend. Got the Black one.. unfortunately I didn't buy it from Greg. Wanted it right away so I bought it at a local auto shop. Paid extra $20 overhead. But it was well worth it. Looks 100X better then the stock shifter I had in my automagic...

I got the all chrome one. If you want pics ... check out my homepage. They are pretty sweet. The install was a pain, but glad I did it.

Is it me, or does it seem kind of tall? Seems like it rises a lot more in height than the stock auto shifter. At least that is what it looks like in the pics.

The install was a @$@#$% to install. I had a mod shop do it for me. What they did was pull the panel out where the ***-tray is. Then the panel for the shifter. Disconnected the old shift-**** and just reconnected the new one. The only tricky thing is, getting the **** to sit perfectly and shift properly.

The shifter heigh is adjustable.. You can just cut off some of the rubber from the shaft..

Yeah, that's what I hear. I wrote Greg to ask if he knew if these were any better. Most people report that they needed to shave the white button and align the OD clip, etc. But, they act like it's a simple bolt on on mod. So...

It's really an easy bolt on mod. If you don't get it in perfectly it won't go. Ex.When I was installing mines I had problems getting it to shift through all the gears. And then when I did resolve that part, whenever I turned off the ignition and tried to remove the key I couldn't. Had to play around with the shifter a little bit to get a perfect fit...

It is not really height adjustable. There is a black plastic piece that needs to go into the top of the shifter in order to get it to shift/sit correctly. You can move it up and down on the on the actual shift rod, but there is only one place for it to screw into. The pain was splicing the wires. You have to cut the original wires as close to the shifter as possible and honestly that gives you about 1 inch of wire to work with. It is not really long enough for butt connectors, and therefore solder is required. That is where the pain is. Once connected, you just slide on the new shifter and screw it in. As for a bolt on mod, yes it is, but ... its the wiring that is so difficult. If you take your time it can be done in an hour. If you are a master solderer (I just made up a word ) then you can get it done in maybe 30-45.

Just test it before putting everything back together. You need to make sure all gears work, and that you can remove the keys. Also make sure it goes into park. If it does not then you need to more the shifter up or down on the shift rod. Plain as mudd right??

It may be about an inch taller than stock but that's it. It just looks tall in the pics.

that price sucks! i got mine from alex at southwest auto works.. Email him at alex@southwestautoworks.com tell him adam sent you.. 75 is his normal price for these... And its kinda hard to put in.. the wires connecting the stock shifter to the od button are way too short.. i had to remove my entire center consol and put in longer wires...
