Aftermarket Bump Stops ((H-tech/Tokico HP))
Aftermarket Bump Stops ((H-tech/Tokico HP))
I bought Tein H-Tech's and Tokico HP's but need to buy new bump stops.
I DO NOT want to trim my stock bump stops.
Does anyone know the part number to replace them with this suspension??? Or suggestions on which ones to get???
I heard Koni has bumpstops but will they work? If so which ones???
tnx

RE Suspension has a myriad of bump stops available in various heights and spring rates.
Lol, I've heard the opposite about KYB. You can't go wrong with OEM. Call DaveB and get OEM. After reading about problems with aftermarket, I thought it better to just go with OEM and trim them a little to account for the lowering.
I just ordered new front dust boot/bump stops from DaveB a couple weeks ago because mine are torn up and I'm swapping out my H&R springs in the front for some brand new H-Techs to get a little lower. They were like $15 each plus shipping. Just so you know, the rear OEM dust boots are $25 a piece, which is pretty expensive IMO.
There are two types you may find and it really depends on what the retailer has in stock. There is a one piece bump stop/boot combo which is like what came on the max. The other is a new style two piece which must be snapped together form a one piece.

They are also know as bellows. I'm not sure is there is a differance in price.
Also, IMO, bump stops are replacement parts not performance parts so I would not be too attached to brand names, I would look for price.

The thing to know about bumpstops is that you get the right one for your car, ie. make, model, etc. Also know that the front ones are larger that the rear so don't go online and order four rears bumpstops like I almost did.
