i have same issue, i tested all the fuses but they are good. Question do your sunvisor lights work? map light? Also try to use the remote when your car is running can you lock the car or unlock it?

How would I go about testing that? Taking it out and sticking a new one in or just looking at the fuse to see if it's damaged/burnt

The map light and visor lights work fine.

on driverside, under stearing column, open the little box, there will be a pwr door fuse.. take it out.. there will be a metal piece inside, that connects the 2 'teeth' of the fuse.. if its not connected inside, its bad - needs replacement.

in the same fuse box my shift lock fuse started to go then went, i lost some lights, doors, and keyfob use, as well as the ability to shift my car out of park!

simple fuse does more than it claims

A bad fuse doesn't always look like a bad fuse.

There's a fusebox on the left side of the steering wheel but when I opened it I didn't find anything that remotely said pwr door fuse or anything to do with doors.

I have a 2000 Max

Get a fuse tester and test all fuses, including but not limited to the ones in the cabin.

The battery in the fob may be out AND the auto-door switch may have blown. But at the same time?

MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Everything RANDOMLY STARTED WORKING AGAIN!

There's gotta be a short somewhere that screws with it.

Here's what happened:

So I'm driving to work and it's 5am so I throw on the rear defroster. Well it doesn't turn on so I freak out and I'm like **** not only do the doors not work but now the rear defroster is out!?!!

So out of frustration I keep pressing the button and then the little light underneath the button lights up so I giggle then I try the power door locks for the hell of it and LOL it worked too!

Even the bloody key fob works again so I'm one happy ****

Until it comes back. I had a short under the dash that kept blowing my tail/running lights fuse. Electrical gremlins are the worst. Glad to hear it's working now but you should still try to get to the bottom of it.

I have the same problem, key fob and door switch are dead. Battery in key fob is good, can't find any fuse anywhere for the door locks. It has to be a relay, fuse or something that is common to all. Any ideas?

So, has anyone found out what fuse is it exactly in the fuse cabinet below the steering wheel?

just so you guys know, if you cant shift out of park the fuse is in the engine bay (left side facing engine) it is the illumination fuse i believe.

if your door locks dont work, check the door lock relay and fuses in the engine bay, not under the drivers side dash.

My rear door behind the passenger won't open for nothing, inside or out but the window works. The switch above the handle in the inside moves how it should, lock and unlock but still the door doesn't open. any suggestions?
