Just got my tranny rebuilt

I went over to Aamco in Pearl River because my aunts friend works over there. Overall Im pretty happy with it, but just want the orgers opinions on a few things.

1st, the car shifts very well, 1st to 2nd is very very firm, the rest are normal. The tranny no longer slips at all even when cold. Fluid is bright pink, but they asked that I bring the car back in a week to make sure there arent any leaks....sounds like everything was pretty routine.

One thing I did notice is that when shifting into D or R, there still is like a half second delay before I feel the car pull. Im not sure that this is really a problem, but can anyone varify? It does not bang into gear as it use to, there is just that half second delay.

I paid 2,700 for it and here is what was done according to Aamco.

New assembly set transstar, new filter, new band-brake, new trans fluid, labor to remove/install, labor to rebuild, new sol pack, new steels, new valve body, reconditioned torque converter.

Input is greatly appreciated. thanks

Man for $2,700 you should have just done a 5 or 6 speed swap.

i found it to be a bit pricey as well. I couldnt find anyone that would attempt a 6 speed swap. If I could I would have done it in a heartbeat.

Extremely pricey. I would have just gone to a junkyard and bought a tranny from there. Probably would have cost half as much with the installation included. Thats just me though.
