Strut and Spring advice

I have a 03 maxima and i am looking for a comfortable ride.
I have the tokico illiumas on my car now. Ive drove not more than 35000 miles on them and the front are blown, there gone... NYC isnt nice to our maximas... I got theses struts becasue i thought there were top of the line but i see thaey dont last.
I dont like harsh rides so please advise with a comfortable setup.
Whats a comfortable strut spring setup.
I just need the front setup
the back struts are fine,

What springs are you running? I'm running Illuminas/Progress and it's and very nice ride better than stock, very compliant yet firm not bouncing all over the place, my Maxima friends call it the cadillac since it so smooth! 2F/4R...25,000 miles estimate!

^^ +1. It would help to know what springs you are running. Your comments are very subjective. Of course the struts (which, btw, ARE actually very good) will blow prematurely if you're running a spring lower than recommended threshhold, and furthermore in NYC.

More info from you will yield a proper suggestion from us.

it sounds like you have stock springs...if so, its not the struts fault they blew...

if you are on stock springs, then you might want to look into the Tokico warranty policies.

As for comfortable ride, most say H&R or coilovers are the way to go

Most Tokico and KYB's have a lifetime warranty! Hope you mailed in your registration card when you purchased them!

Just because yours didn't last doesn't mean these struts in general don't last.

Take a look at this poll:

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...illuminas.html

If you're only on stock springs, I'm sure Tokico will honor the warranty, so your first step should have been to try contacting them first.

As for the question on what set up to go with, see below.
