tranny question

On my 03 sometimes at WOT, the tranny will stick in the 5k to 6k range for a few seconds before the rpm starts dropping to 4k( engine is still pulling )and then swaps to second. It only happens occasionally and only at WOT, otherwise it'll swap gears perfectly. any ideas? I'll try to take a video of it.

notice the shift from 1st to second when shifting the rpm first drops to 4500, then drops a bit more to say 4000 then starts to go up again, whereas it should start going back up from 4500 rpm like theother gears do.

tranny fluid is changed every oil change, so every 3k miles. here is a video of the problem, notice when the car shifts from 1st to 2nd the drop in rpm from 4500 to 4000 before going up again.

mine used to do that too actually and it would snap into 2nd gear really hard, i ended up stripping the gears so i had to replace the whole transmission but why do you change it so often?

TSB maybe?

Could possibly be the NTB00039a TSB pertaining to the TCM/solenoids. I think I have the same/similar problem on my 2000 GLE.

Could be your transmission is starting to slip too. Maybe time for a rebuild?

I 2nd that! theres no good reason for the frequency of fluid changes, I mean really, unless you're driving like crazy, no....theres still no reason for that..

i really doibt that. the way its shifting doesnt seem like a tranny issue to me, more electrical. slipping tranny would cause rpm to go up with no increase in speed not down.

I guess i can cool down on the ATF changes but i picked upa lot of nissan fluid when they had a sale.
