annoying hood shake. any thoughts?

Whenever I drive at interstate speeds and there is an inconsistency in the road surface the left side of my hood (from the drivers seat) and close to the windshield shakes (not the whole hood just this one area) as if my hood had been unlatched or something.

ive checked everything i could think of that could be loose but it all looks fine

anyone else have this problem? it's really annoying and kind of freaks me out

adjust stops and put weather stripping along the top of the headlight where it meets the hood...cuts down on air flow under the hood

Theres a TSB for adding the strips above the headlights to reduce wind entering under the hood. Also adjust your bumpstop on the radiator support.

For some stupid reason Nissan decided not to put the rubber strip on top of the headlamps (in between the lamp and the hood) on the '01s. The '00s have this strip and consequently do not have this problem.

The TSB has the Nissan part numbers in it. I ordered the parts for a grand total of about $8. They came with instructions and my hood shake is almost all gone.

I bought the rubber stoppers from a 98 tahoe and my hood rattle is gone...they're much more substantial and don't break like our crappy ones do. They thread down a lot more than the stock ones and in the lowest position, they're at the perfect height for both hood height and downward pressure.

But getting those rubber strips will also help. Especially if your tack welds that attach the support braces to the sheet metal have come undone (very common...our hoods are crappy)

I used thick foam tape and new rubber hood stops to fix the issue on my car.
