My accident back in the beginning of March...

This is the result of some ******* cutting me off out of nowhere. Worst thing is that she didn't have any insurance! Furthermore, neither did I. Unfortunately, I could not afford car insurance because of a ridiculous child support order of $425 a week for ONE kid!!! What sucks is that I finally found a car that I truly LOVE. Anyway, enough *****in' though...here it is...

Sucks about the car man...and the insurance situation. You can't even DRIVE a car without insurance in my state.

Did your grill snap in half on impact or something?

Yup. Threw the other half across the road. Yeah, in NH it isn't mandatory to have insurance.

Sorry about your accident. However you're really lucky not having insurance. I'm sorry for coming off as an a**hole, but what if this accident was much worst? What if your kid was in the car and was injured? Insurance protects you and everyone else. This could of been much worst, and the $425 a week of child support would be the least of your problems. The situation sucks, and I know the feeling, but you gotta fix the insurance problem. Good luck bro.

His lack of insurance problem isn't your problem....bro. What if he can't afford insurance.

Insurance is a scam. It is designed for the policy holder to pay for something that he or she may hardly ever use. No matter if it's homeowners, health, life, auto, or whatever. The amount of money one puts in far exceeds what is ever taken out (the majority of the time).
In addition to catastrophic events, the only thing insurance would have protected him or anyone else are the leach sucking lawyers.

You have my condolences man. I'm sorry about that. I used to drive an MDX and it got totaled in an accident. My parents used some of the insurance money to buy me my 2000 Maxima GLE, so there was a silver lining in that cloud. Needless to say, they didn't waste anytime kicking me off their policy (my parents not the insurance company) haha

I feel your pain with that one. If it was an illegal, I would have had a DE right in his face. No, I'm waiting to see what happens with the lawsuit. They had till the 13th of this month to reply (which they didn't) or I win by default, however, I doubt I'll ever see a dime.

Its a lesson learned as much as it can be. I should have had insurance...I agree, but it really came down to either making the car payment or the insurance payment. Yes, I know that you must have insurance with a loan out on a vehicle. I literally can't afford it. When I bought the car they were only taking $75 a week for support.

good one....

First off... I wasn't even talking to you.
second...That comment had no use in this thread at all, That's all I'm saying.

Next time you guys have bad luck I'll make sure to come in your thread and make some snide, smart ***, useless comment. How does that sound?

He says in the f*cking thread that when he got the car he was only paying $75 for the child support. If he was upside down on the car he couldn't get rid of it... He was stuck in a hole. Either pay insurance or pay car payment. I would choose the car too... think about it.

Well if he can't afford insurance in my state, he better not get caught driving. $700+ fine. Either way, I'm just giving him my honest, hopefully constructive opinion. It's his choice whether to accept it or not. Quite honestly, if it was me, I wouldn't drive...especially with child support being horrid (note to self...don't get divorced!).

Yeah, well, I had insurance when I got the car. The CS issue came up after so I was already stuck with the car...so buying a POS was out of the question. I realize how important it is to have it, but I had to make a choice. I won the lawsuit by default, but I bet I will never see a dime of it. Apparently, if you collect welfare in the US...you have immunity to lawsuits...

I kind of agree I shouldn't be driving if I can't afford it, but I have a really good job, (that I need to get to) and I'm fighting this child support BS as we speak. Plus I'd rather drive around a criminal then be a prisoner in my own home. I talked to a lawyer (or liar) that even went as extreme as holding NJCSE accountable because of the ridiculous order amount. The lawyer is claiming that I was so broke that I had to make the choice to get rid of my car insurance, but still needed to get to work because if I stopped paying my CS, then the consequences would be a lot worse.

Actually it's usually the opposite, the money taken out in claims can exceed the premiums and they can still turn a profit because of investing. But I completely agree that lawyers and insurance companies are the devil.

First off, that accident is not bad at all, so you can easilly fix it yourself with very little money.

I am shocked that you have to pay that much for child support. How many kids do you have? Your ex have a good lawyer?

Driving without ANY kinf of insurance is horrible, at least this time it was a fairly light accident, what if it was much worse or if you were hurt?

I would definetly look into getting this car sold and getting a 4th gen. You can find a 97-99 with fairly low miles for only a few grand.

Anyways, I have a used headlight with a broken housing but the glass is good and the ballast and bulbs are good for 50 bux if you want. You can bang out the fender so it looks a bit better and zip tie the grill, therefore you can drive the car with no problem until you get on your feet. If you're willing to make a drive out to western MA, i would gladly help you out.

Maybe I'll take you up on that offer. On my way down to Jersey for my motion, I bet I won't be to far away. And the CS is for ONE kid.
