HOOD SWITCH

I hate to start a thread on this, but does anyone have an idea of the purpose of the hood switch. Just noticed that mine was left hangin by the bodyshop. Since i gotten it back my ride has not performed the same. I've seen some threads saying some stuff about service mode. i'm thinking that since this was this left hanging the car could was acting like the hood was up. ANY IDEAS..

are you talking about the "switch" behind the driver side headlight?

Hi, I think it's related to security reasons. When the car is locked and somebody trying to open the hood, alarm will sound.

exactly, so if the dealer left that piece just hanging, you might want to get that taken care of.....would suck if a tech did it on purpose to make an attempt to thief something in the near future.

Hey folks just wanted to update this thread. Since making the repair to my hood switch the car is driving like it should. I am able to hammer it and not have to call the tow truck when i slow down. No coils burned, tranny shifting fine. I had my ecu checked and came back ok. I spoke with the serv. manager and didn't have a clue if this was the source of my problems. This is the only thing that I have done. So there has got to be some kinda issue when operating the vehicle with the hood up.
