Call 'em up quick and complain. How far away are you from the shop? Get them to tow it back and figure out what the hell they messed up.

what does it smell like? coincidentally (and hopefully) it's just a coolant leak...

Could be but not my problem to worry about at the moment. Looked like a mix of oil and coolant at first on the hood.

Let's hope they just spilled some crap on the engine block all you're witnessing is evaporation.

was your oil light on? Can you check your oil level while you're waiting?

Any word on what really happened yet? Has the assistant manager gotten there? I surely hope is not something major. Disrupting your trip and losing a few hours because of that is bad enough.

When I posted at 12:30 he had already been there. Some how the radiator split, I guess it was just coincidental... who knows.

I was actually on my way and turned around to head home and take the Camaro instead because something just didn't seem right with the Maxima. Good thing otherwise I would have been somewhere off of I-95 instead of 19miles away from my house.

That was smart on your part. I'm wondering why the Max didn't try to crank though. Keep us posted as to the root problem.

So, the people who changed the oil didn't see any coolant leak?

Guess not and on my receipt where it lists everything that they "checked" it says "radiator....checked okay" or whatever.

As long as it has oil in it the oil change place is clear of any wrong doing!

Eeck! Talk about bad luck. Where did the radiator crack at? Was it one of the plastic tanks, or somewhere on the core?

I was thinking that also, but it might hav just got catostrophic real quick, maybe something got wet or slammed with broken radiator shards??? I've seen a radiator hose blow off so forcefully on a mustang that it broke off the distributor!

No coolant = no coolant temp reading.

OEM's should start moving toward block temperature gauges IMO.

Agreed thats how it should be, was not aware it took the coolant temp reading instead of the block itself....a CEL would've came on though....or am I wrong lol

The plastic up top is what split. I watch my gauges carefully at all times and the car was running right in the area that it always is, so why would I have thought that the car was about to do what it did?
