Headlight Removal..With Data Dots.HELP.

Know how goofy this sounds...want to black the headlight housings...but ive got teh stupid datadots kit.How do i remove the stupid things. removed the standard bolts but it seemed like it was still locked in when i was going to YANK them out lol...If anyone could forward it as i kknow it isnt ...supposed to be openly shared. thx.

You mean the theft deterrent kit?

Data Dots are a different thing entirely.

Easiest way IMO is a punch and a hammer, drive them out.

lol yeah. my understanding was that the data dots were inclusive with the theft deterrent kit. but yes the theft deterrent kit as well lol. any idea how to get the damn things out?

Or if you've already got them out, the headlights should just pull out as normal. The only theft deterrent added to the lights themselves was those security bolts.

IIRC it's just the two bolts on top, then a ball and socket joint in the corner by the fender.

I find it easier to push out from the inside. Push on the high beam side and on the out-side. Works best for me.

damn...alright...i know that im destructive by nature...as a kid i remember i wanted a boom box for two years...when i finally got it...took it apart to see how it worked...been doing that for years...only in that case..i couldn't get it back together. was worried about breaking the damn headlights lol.

i just did mine 2 weeks ago and i had to figure it out myself....i dont wanna make it public on how to actually do it because of thieves...just go under the bumper, take off both plastic linings below and investigate...it was sooooo much simpler than i thought it was...really simple IMO
