dustboots.. autozone.. advanced
Well i got my illuminas today but my rear dustboots look like crap. All torn and brittle andf the fronts too. Id like to install them tomorrow but not on crappy boots. does anyone know if autozone or advanced or someone like that carries them. I call Betera Nissan and the only carry the fronts and no one has the rears in 50 miles on me. The fronts are 25 with 20 percent off for bodyshops so it would be 40 total for the front. Any one know where to get aftermarket ones insted of orderiing to come thru the mail?

Autopart International carrys them not sure where you're from but I saw you race at NED so there should be one near you here is there link. IIRC the bumpstops need some modification to fit nothing major though my installer told me he just heated up a socked and jammed it in there to make it bigger.

As far as dustboots go, I think all you need is something that covers the piston and the base of the piston once the assembly is compressed, so take some measurements and get anything generic that looks like it'll fit. However, the OEM pieces have the bumpstops incorporated into them as well, so you'll need something similar, unless you just want to eliminate the bumpstops altogether. Might want to think about that.
Some info I found here as well:

Thanks for that link Puppetmaster, I was looking for this also. My local Nissan dealer wants $26.46 each for the front and $47.72 each for the rear. DaveB definately appears to have it the cheapest.

When I did the Illuminas on my 00, I got boots from NAPA - AND THEY DIDN'T FIT correctly. They would get caught up sideways.
I would highly suggest paying for the right boots/stops from Nissan.
Also, I changed my springs - and with the springs was a recommendation for trimming the bump stops.
Some notes from my install: http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...all-notes.html

IIRC they were around $100 for all 4 and they fit fine no issues they're even long enough to cover the shaft when the car is jacked up fully.

i got my illuminas installed. I reused the front dust boots as they were in good shape. The rears i needed. I went to a 4 x 4 place and got rancho shock boots. Very durable rubber. Also had good length so i trimmed them to fit. Also the best part is they fit good and tight and they were 4.50 each
