ABS, SLIP, and TCS OFF light are all on

So my moms 2001 I30T has all three of these lights on, and the SES light is on, but that only comes up for the cat converter...which smells like **** by the way...

i've been driving the car around, everything seems to be fine, although under high speed braking, the steering wheel shimmys like a crazy ****....

Also i'm hearing some funny noises over by the water pump... so that may be going out...

i've checked coils those were fine, i checked the battery after letting it sit for a couple days, and that is keeping its charge, which in turn i'm assuming the alternator is fine since the battery is charged up...

any of you guys have any ideas on why all these lights came on? i've been driving it as my work/school commuter, and the lights stay on consistantly...

I thought that having those lights on are an indication of an alternator ready to drop dead??

Yeah, seems like the alternator is shot, along with a bunch of other things. The shaking while braking is prolly warped rotors.

I am having this same problem ran a scan and it came up as mass air flow sensor. The car had no power and ran sluggish i replaced sensor car is running great now but those three lights came back on. So now i dont know if my maf sensor was messed up ontop of something else.

well the best thing u can do is take it somewheres to have it tested like autozone or advanvedautoparts whatever parts store u go to u prolly need a few things from the sound of it with the list u originally posted. but the all 3 lites usually leads to the alt.

Those 3 lights indicate that one of your wheel speed sensors (or ABS sensors) has gone bad. I recently had the same issue and just replaced one of the sensors last week and it resolved the problem and the lights are no longer on. The wire was totally torn in half, not sure how it happened. I ordered the sensor for around $120 from DaveB. If you check for codes, it should tell you which one of the sensors is bad, but I obviously didn't have to do this. You can find the sensor by taking off the wheel and looking for the wire running to a plastic knuckle...it was on the right side behind the hub for me. To replace them, disconnect it from the harness, then you just have to unbolt it and then pry it out a little (I used a flat head screwdriver). I used some PB Blaster to loosen it up a bit before I did this because it was a little rusted on. Once you get it loose, you should be able to wiggle it out. Be careful not to use excessive force though, because I have read a lot about people who broke them off and then had to drill them out. It's pretty easy to do...shouldn't take longer than a half hour.

2001 maxima 20th ann edition TCS ABS SES lights

My traction control and abs lights come on from time to time. It has nothing to do with the alt...I do believe it has something to do with the MAF...We have experienced tons of problems with the car and threw working on it we notice different things. I have changed the IAC, MAF, and TPS...Seems like every time we unplug the MAF those lights come on without fail, So it definitely has something to do with the MAF and or the wheels sensors as well. The engineers of this car should be shot! How in the world could you make lights come on that do not pertain to the problem? What in the world would the Traction control and abs have to do with the MAF? Just doesnt make sense! Like I said, Ive been having tons of problems with my 2001 maxima... I see alot of you guys out there mention this problem with the lights but have you experienced the car running bad with them on? We have had our SES light on for a long time now.
Cant figure out the problem. Everyone thinks its a vacuum leak but cant find one. I'm leaning toward the intake manifold gasket but not sure yet. Anyway, In park or neutral the car runs are a 1500 RPM jumping up and down to about 2000 rpm back to 1500 rpm. In drive the idel doesnt jump but the car idles at about a 1000 rpm. Every now and then the ABS TCS off lights on the dash will pop on only on start up. If the car is already running they will not come on. If they come on at start up I have to turn the car off and on a number of times till they go off. Sometimes I have to disconnect the battery neutral for a few minutes. If I try to drive the car this way id spits sputters jumps and start to smell like eggs! I know you guys mentioned the sae problem with the lights but have you experienced any of these other smptoms?

I dont have TCS but my ABS light has been on because I need a left front abs sensor. I would check the speed sensors/abs sensors first then go from there.

AND LISTEN TO SUBLIME258.. I changed my right front abs sensor and broke it off because I tried to do it quickly... You do not want to have to drill them out. Be careful if you do this.

mine ended up being a rear passenger ABS sensor, if ur having maf issues on top of these lights, its probably both.... i got my moms car read at a nissan dealer using a consult and it told me exactly which sensor it was, and it was all good after i replaced the abs sensor

I have an Altima 2003 3.5SE, I'm facing the same problem, without reading this post I thought the problem it was my alternator, yesterday I was driving at 60 miles/hr and then suddenly those lights appeared, and I couldn't accelerate more, when the car goes near to 1500 rpm those lights appears again and the car slows down, my guess is that is the alt, but some of you are pointing that it could be the MAF, I'm very confused b/c near here there are no good mechanics or shops (I'm stuck in a little town) , I'll tell you what happens later wish me luck!
