2000 nissan maxima GLE exhaust

Hey peps

Anyone has an diagram of the 2000 nissan maxima GLE exhaust from front to back. My exhaust is making noise and I am pretty sure it has a whole in it. Before I look under the car does anyone have a layout of it.

Also does anyone know a cheap place/site to order parts if i need to replace them. I live in Canada.

Thanks

Thanks for the diagram! I suggest www.autoanything.com, as they have some great pricing and free shipping right now!

I'm looking at getting the following matte finish Magnaflow muffler to replace the stock one on my 2000 Max GLE:

http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts...A2692A0A0.aspx

My questions are:

- Which size do I need to choose from the sizes listed there?
- They state it is "round", but my muffler has an oval profile as in the above diagram. So is this round one the optimal shape?
- What size tip and/or extension do I need to clear the bumper and have clean look?
- Can i expect the same sound from the above unit compared to their other model which is a super shiny polished stainless steel unit?

Many Thanks!

sublime258, thank you for that diagram, and CMax03 thanks for that info. I ended up looking under my car to see where exactly is the whole in my exhaust if there is one as it is making a noise when car is in park or pushed on the gas. I could not find anywholes at all. I looked at every inch of that exhaust from front to end and found nothing at all.

Another reason why i looked under because everytime i go over a speed bump or a somewhat bump in the street or even backing up from my drive way and that little drop at the end of the drive way my exhausted or somthing under there makes a loud banging noise like somthing is hitting somthing.

Question
My exhaust is lose when i move it, not that lose but enough that you can move it right to left about 1 cm each. Is that normal or does it need to be tight.

Using the diagram above it looks liike all holders are in place and nothing is missing.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it can be.

Once again thanks all

Check the rear flange, it is very common for the exhaust to break right there. Mine broke about 2 weeks after I bought my car, I wasn't happy about it. If you don't see anything broken, your hangers might just be loose.

Not to threadjack but how do I remove the stock exhaust under this condition??

I sprayed the PBblaster on it and it seems nothing happened. The screws wouldn't budge either. Guess I will have to bring it to a mechanic?

You can replace it with a flange system or ball/socket flange system I think magnaflow sells flanges and you pretty much have the muffler shop saw it off or torch it then weld in the new flange assy assembly.

Yeah I am having the same issue. Someone told me I can DIY this but apparently the thing is stuck together. Guess I'll have a shop do this?

It's spelled HOLE, not WHOLE. Another common location is where the pipe enters the muffler after the axle flange.
