Is there any advantage to getting cross drilled and slotted rotors?

I dont have any performance mods other than a CAI, FSTB and soon to be RSB. Is it worth the extra $40?

i had cross and drilled rotors and they cracked. choose one or the other, not both. the stock size rotors aren't big enough to have that much material taken away and not crack from the heat.

Drilled rotors are a big
Drilling any type of rotor weakens the surface, causing cracking under extreme temperatures. Go with slotted only. You will be fine.

What do you use the car for? Do you track it? If not, just get blanks and save yourself some money and any potential hassle. Just my opinion.

Anyway, you can find previous discussion and opinions here:

Good to me

ive had cross drilled and slotted for bout atlest 4 years now. NO problems at all. they stop better and look beefier than stock rotors. maybe its just the company people get them from that defines the quality.

For anything except racing/track applications, stick with blanks, they'll have the best grip and offer the most surface area of rotor that you can utilize...

Latest casualty, even though to be honest, rotor failure hasn't been a widely reported issue on these forums:

yea you dont hear about it alot...but when you do its a drilled rotor..which is why i purchased rear drilled and slotted...not that much brake is 'requested' from the rear, so i figure less chance, even though that guy's rear rotors are toast

I'm just received the 6th gen calipers I bought and I'm about to buy brembo blanks for an 06 maxima w/ hps pads. I think this is probably the best combo for our cars, blank rotor+hawk hps=WIN
