When i turn my car off, there seems to be a mechanical noise, its kind of hard to explain, it sound like a gear is turning or something, it only makes the noise when i turn my car off and when i gently press the gas...it sounds like its coming from around the transmission. Its very irritating sound just wanna know what it is if someone has experienced this noise or maybe know what it could possibly be... Thanks in advance.

eletric motor mount?

 

i really dont know ima try to get out tomorrow and mess with it and see what i can come up with.

 

If it sounds like a electric servo more than likely it's those electric motor mounts! Front and rear on the those 2000-01! Jack up the car or place a stethascope wand on the front or rear mount while someone else turns on the ignition...Or start the engine and turn it off it will cycle the mounts then! I had a 2000 Maxima and it cycled the motor mounts for about 15 seconds after you shut the engine off!
