air conditioning

For the past year my ac stopped working twice. Both times a fuse (15 amp) from the blower moter blew. I replaced both times and ac worked again. it stopped working now again and the fuses are fine. do you guys think this is the blower moter gone. any ideas and how much should i expect to pay for this?

I would take a guess and agree with you that its the Blower Motor.
Have you had the noisy symptoms of the motor getting noisy inside the cabin while using the vents?

I honestly dont remember the price though ...under $220 over $100 I might have been $180 dont quote me though.

It's probably not the blower motor, but the resistor that leads to it. My resistor is burnt out from speeds 1-3. In other words, my A/C only works on high speed.

I got a price quote from someone I know locally. You can get the resistor for $38 and the blower motor for $100. These are aftermarket products, though. I don't know about original Nissan part prices if that's what you'd rather have.

I have had no noisy symtoms only the blown fuse. I read on another site that the resistor is only for cars with a manual a/c control, i have the auto climate. I dont know if this is true or not but i dont want to order the wrong peice. Does anyone else know what I should try, i want to fix this tommorrow...It is not getting any cooler outside

k, mine did the same thing, it kept blowing fuses until it stopped working completely, which turned out the blower motor control amp was dead.

manual has resistors, auto uses amplifier, it's in the same location.

your blower motor is bad, you might need to replace both blower motor and the conrtol amp.

then you'll be burning up the new amp again.
the reason the fuses blew was telling your the blower motor was putting too much current on the amp.

the motor doesnt stop working, it just doesnt work what it should be like putting too much current on the loop.
what I did was replacing both, because the amp burnt up due to improper working blower motor.

If it helps in anyway... rockauto.com now has the KYC blower motor.

I just installed one in my max. Original lasted 8yrs/175K miles... though the last 2K miles it needed to be smacked to get it going.

The KYC has a 1 yr warranty and comes shipped with the fan for $40.

I had to try it before dropping over a hundred!
