catback question

catback question

so i just got my megan catback and i put it in...i also gutted the main cat...i start the car and it isnt as loud as i thought...its pretty quiet....you think i put the res in the wrong way?....or do i have to break it in?....i watched a youtube video of some1 with the same exact setup and his exhaust was louddd and nice soundingg..

my megan catback did the same, you gotta break it in, it will eventually get louder!

It would probably sound louder if you removed the main cat.
Do you also have headers or stock manifolds?

get headers to make it louder... i dont know why anyone would want it louder though???

That's weird My Cattman Catback was slightly louder when I installed it 5 yrs ago and it was even queiter about 200-300 miles later! That "Breaking It In" statement sounds like some of that fiberglass insulation gets burned away!

yep i have ther stock y and header...i love my cars to be louddd as hell lol....i guess i have to break it in then...also do you get the same performance gettin a after market ypipe and keeping the stock headers as getting a aftermarket y and headers? becuz the headers dont have the cats in them the y does...correct?

So I am planning on doing an exhaust change from exhaust manifold back to headers and so forth. any suggestions? I dont want any codes to be tripped. and I'm also looking for something not too expensive.

Have you searched? This is (sadly) a very common question, and there are hundreds of threads about exhaust choices.

You just need to do a little research...
