Well, it sounds like somehow the linkage got disconnected, but unfortunately I don't have any suggestions that don't involve destroying something.
If I had to choose, I'd try to pry the inner panel up and off the window 'ledge' - to try to get to the outer handle linkage.

At this point, perhaps slimjiming the door. The handles may not be hooked up, but you can still try to get to the latch, if there's enough linkage to get there. That's not going to be so easy though...and if it's the latch that's broken, old-slim won't do you any good.

I actually had this exact problem with the same door, I got frustrated a took it to the nissan dealer. They had to remove the bottom of the rear seat to remove the inside door panel. They removed some rust by sanding it down and lubricated and adjusted a couple parts in it. They also did the other rear door as well. It ended up costing me $294.95. It's almost been a year since I have had this done and it still works fine. I still think i got ripped off by the dealer though but i really had no other choice.

Holy!!
This is an EXCELLENT idea. Remove the lower portion of the seat, and the 'shoulder' of the upper part of the seat. That should give you enough room to get the door panel off without damaging it. Then you can reconnect the linkage, and have access to the inside of the outer door panel.

I had the same problem with both of my rear doors. I also had to remove the rear seat bottom cushion in order to remove the door panel.
The reason why my doors didn't open was because the mechanism that latches over each hook that comes out of the wheel well and keeps the door from flying open had accumulated some corrosion and was in turn frozen. A little WD-40 and white lithium grease fixed the problem. You can spray it from the outside once you get the door panel off and the door open of course. Remove the two screws that hold the latch in place before spraying in order to get the whole mechanism lubricated.
You might want to do the other door too because as soon as one of my doors went the other one soon went.

Well i got the panel off no issue there, the linkage is not broke or fallen off, where the linkage connects to the lock mechinism it moves but only goes so far, the lock mechinism is jammed itself.
