Changing out Power Steering Hose

My max is leaking PS fluid from the high pressure hose. From what I have read it's going to be a pain to replace, but I'm going to try it anyway. What I need to know is if anyone knows the size of the banjo bolt that bolts the hose to the PS pump?

Thanks

Thanks for the info.

Were there any surprises you ran into that I need to know about?

for the fitting that goes in the rack. either use line wrenches or cut off with a cut off wheel the line and use a deep socket to unscrew it from rack

I just found out my hose is leaking also? It seems like a shop would like $400-500. How was the install for you? Would you recommend someone doing it? I've installed all my mods myself and do all the maintenance, but was wondering if this is too big of a job. Thanks for your help

It turned out not being as bad as I thought. It's only 4 bolts, Two behind the strut mount, there is a brace about half way down the hose and banjo bolt at the bottom.
I say do it yourself. I bought the hose from AutoZone for $125.

Things I ran into: I had to use two socket extensions and a universal socket to remove brace. I also had some trouble getting the banjo bolt to sit well, it's easier if you bolt that in first. The banjo bolt size give by doublea in post #2 is right 24mm

I hope this helps.

I think I'm going to replace the P/S hose while the engine is out of the car, I put the original back since it look good, but this thread is making me think twice. I'm going to order one tomorrow, the local part supplier wanted 250$ cdn for a P/S hose, I though it was pretty steep but I'll see if I can find one for a decent price.

Thanks chuckd2k for your reply. I'm going to try and do this job myself.

I have 71k miles on the car. The mechanic said it was due to the "age" of the car.

Ok so I can't get the bolt off the brace. I've tried every which way possible it seems and the thing just won't seem to come off. Any thoughts or techniques on how to get it off? Thanks
