(As you can tell by now, I'm not a expert on brakes...)

What if the Brake Fluid level is low? If so and I add some, would that make any difference. Could it be that easy?

give it some time. If you got new pads and rotors, then the pads and rotors need to be bedded. The smell you smell is just the top layer on the pads designed to keep the brakes quiet. I would check the fluid just to make sure, but check out the thread. http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...t=bedding+pads

I'll check that out. Thanks!

I just checked the brake fluid level and its maxed out. What a disaster this has become. I wonder how much someone will charge in Boston to bleed the brakes??

i used to work at firestone and the mark up on parts is huge. however, when you threw in calipers into a brake job they charged a few hundred dollars for each set of calipers. that price quote is pretty average from the work that i saw

If they did the damn break bleed, then I would agree with you. It is a lot of money, but I think its fair (but check my first sentence).

Though checking my service records I got new rotors/pads in the front only two years ago. Prob put in 15-20k miles on it since. Yikes...

But anyone have an idea of how much it might cost be to have my breaks bleed in Boston?
