What strut boot to use

Which strut boot should i use with my Tokico Illuminas w/ Tein H Tech springs. I read from a previous post that a KYB part number sb103 for a Ford Mustang would work. However, the picture of the product looks like its really small, what would you guys use?

I'm partial to OEM. They just fit better.

forgot to mention. there are two kind of OEM boots. one is one-piece (boot and bump stop come in one piece), and the other one is two-piece (it comes out in separate). both of the boots fit perfectly fine. but if you are planning to cut the bump stop, go with two piece.

Thats the 2000 vs 01-02-03 design. I don't think it matters which you get, as you can't get the internal bumpstop separately...

In the end, my decision of which version to get would be based solely on price.

After reading around on here i ordered they KYB ones because supposedly they have slightly shorter bump-stops, and were recommended by several members.

The part numbers for the maxima are SB104 and SB108

Assuming your going to cut them - here's my take

My favorites (I've tried 'em all - KYB foam and rubber, 2001-2003 1 piece, and 2000 2 piece ) for the fronts on a lowered car are are the 2000 2-piece maxima OE bump stops - they provide a much more gradual transition when you hit the stop, so it's less noticable when you hit the bump stops.

I'd put the foam KYBs next, and then the 2001-03 OE's last.

Cut the OE 2001-2003 1 pc stops, and you'll definitely know when you hit 'em.

Almost forgot - if you go with OE stops, call Dave B - he'll hook you up.
