STEERING COLUMN NOISE

searched to no avail.... but i've got a noise/groan/squeak coming from my steering column when turning at low speeds. i am going to start taking stuff apart and greasing it this weekend, but i was wondering if anyone had any prior experience or any suggestions. its for a 03 i35 btw. thanks,

if it's a mild squeak or groan and you run out of obvious options ie Fluid level, spray some silicone spray onthe rubber around the lower steering shaft ( lower floorboard) It's the one that prevents water from coming inside the car.
