wierd thumping sound at low speeds
Ok ill try to be a detailed to see if anyone knows what this might be. I have this thumping sound (not sure if thats the right word for it) as i start to slow down. It gets noticeable from 20mph down. It is a consistant sound to as it doesnt speed up or slow down in its tempo. Whether going straight, left or right makes no diff as it is still there. I dont feel this thud in the brake pedal either. i only noticed it right after rotating and balancing my tires. Tires are directional so they were front to back and vice versa no criss cross rotating. I have checked to see if there is a loose caliper, wheel, or anything else loose and everythin is tight. My sway bar links were replaced about a year ago so they are new. Only thing i can think is maybe a wheel bearing but that would be more pronouned on a left or right hand turn depending on the bad bearing. Also if i slow down and only use the ebrake to slow the car down the thumping is still there. Have also checked tires for bubbles or flat spots and none. im at a loss and dont know what else to check. Any direction would be great.

Hard to believe it won't change tempo when changing speeds. If that is the case it can't be anything associated with any reciprocating parts. Can you tell, front or rear? If you can distinguish location, move tires front to rear and see it any change. Check for broken belt, flat spot, bent wheel.
It's a start.
It's a start.

on the tempo i guess i cant be sure if the tempo goes slower or faster. Gotta make double sure. Not sure either on frt or rr. Kinda hard to distinguish. Wheels are stright never been damaged. The belt thing hmmm.. mybe something like that could cause it. Would a bearing make a thumping type sound?

ok so i went for a ride last night and im not sure at all on this but i think it sounds like the front pass. And yes it actually slows the tempo as i slow down. No the sunroof is closed along with the slider and seats are all up...

ok some pinpointed the noise a bit more. i noticed when going slow whether on the brake or not i can hear this thud noise, kinda like a bowling ball going down the lane. So i decided to sway the car left and right and while doing some hard swaying no noise while turning left but very much more pronounced when corning hard right. I heard the cv joint would make a clicking sound. What else could this be and i am thinking since im turning hard right im putting more stress on the left side so it must be the left is the problem...?
