I have a couple of questions. It does not show it for a 3.0 on their website, or is it just not updated. Are removing the butterfly plates different then the gaskets? Since I have a plastic intake will it really make a differents?

This is probably my last update to this thread. The spacers are installed, and I'm done. But after a couple of days driving, I had to share some more insights into what I'm finding with these spacers.
1) Instantaneous throttle response. Seriously. At any gear below 6th, if you punch the throttle you will get slammed in the middle of your back. You have to love that! Well, I do, at least.

2) 1st and 2nd gear torque steer is more obvious. That's not cool, but expected. I don't have HLSD. (sad)

3) There's a noticeably deeper tone. Nice, low growl.

4) And this is the big one... 4th Gear is my new 3rd Gear.
That last one bears explaining. Even with all my other mods, 4th gear is primarily a ho-hum. You're not going to wind it out, unless you're into driving 100mph all the time, and it's usually slow to wind out anyway. Another way to look at it is, 4th is typically a stop-gap to the highway cruise. And as far as highway acceleration, if you're already moving at 60 to 70 mph, and you want to accelerate quickly, you would normally downshift into 3rd. You don't go into 4th.

But not any more. With the spacers, 4th gear has a LOT of pull. More so than ever before. There's just so much more power to "play with" at the throttle in 4th gear, if that makes sense.

I've a friend with a 911 twin-turbo. We were tooling around in the Maxima today at lunch, and he was very surprised at the change.

I'm liking the spacers more and more each day. Of course, it will eventually become the new normal, but right now I'm loving the gains.

am I the only one who hasnt felt anything with the butt-dyno after the intake spacers? Car feels the same. I like the added whistle noise...someone pulled up to me on the highway and asked if I had a turbo (spooling) LOL. So yea...feels the same.

You have a "whistle" in your engine? I can't imagine how a whistling noise would be a good thing. I don't know what that is, but it's not the spacers. The only change in engine noise after the spacer install is a deeper tone. There's no whistle.

its a normal whistle...everyone (except you) with spacers said they have it and even Aaron confirmed it. He said its more evident with a short ram intake.

You sure your mechanic installed it correctly?

Maybe he skipped the TB coolant bypass?

Hmm... I do have a short ram. And if Aaron say's there's a whistle, well, he's the man to know.

Maybe I have the whistle, but don't recognize it as such. That's possible. (I'm deaf in one ear, so I'm not exactly an expert on sounds.)

But that still doesn't explain why you're not feeling the change in the way your car runs. I mean, I ran out just now and picked up ice cream for the girls, and man was I loving the change. There's about 80 miles on the car since they were installed, and I'm noticing little differences all around now... at different speeds and different gears. I gotta say, I'm pretty content.

It's been a fantastic year for mods on my car.

I skipped the TB bypass as we have cold winters here.

My mod list for performance, for the guy who asked. The first dyno is intake (custom made by me), cattman headers, cattman cat, cattman catback exhaust, underpully, exedy stage 1 clutch and fidanza flywheel all tuned with a greddy emanage blue.

Then I put the spacers on and retuned for the second dyno on that page

The whistle is definitely there. I have been asked about my "turbo" as well. Also if I pull up beside someone in the right RPM range they will refuse to "have a go". There was an episode with a 350Z about 2 weeks after the spacers. He pulled up beside me and alerted me to his intentions. I gave it a little gas, he heard the whistle. Next set of lights he didn't even try...

ive been told that I seem to immune from feeling any gains that mods may give The only mod where I felt a difference was headers...I have quite a bit of mods too.

There are a few posts in Aaron's 800+ thread on the spacers, discussing whether or not the ECU learns and adjusts after getting the spacers installed.

I don't know one way or the other, but I do know I was expecting to lull into a new normal after a few days. Instead, the car just kept running better and better. I'm much more content 3 days later than I was on Day One.

One week later... here's another comment on the spacers.

Went out to lunch today with some co-workers, and I ended up driving. As we got in the car, I was joking how noticeably the car bogs down when there are 3 or more adults in the Maxima, so don't expect to notice much out of the recent mod with a full passenger load.

Except there wasn't anything slowing us down at all. Seriously, the car pulled strong and hard, just as if I were the only one in it.

I realize that's a pretty subjective opinion, but there it is anyway.

Glad to see the spacers are really everything you were looking for! Really gives me a good feeling aobut mine! I just got mine the other night and I'm absolutely dying to put them in! Seems like they're really working for ya. I'm only hoping I get as much satisfaction as you when I put mine in(with new spark plugs, of course!)

Well, although I had a really hard time gauging the gain the NWP spacers gave me when I would drive alone in my car, I finally realized something was different when 2 of my buddies were in the car with me yesterday (like you Rochester). Normally I feel the extra bog (even if slightly) when I have only one passenger with me but yesterday I went WOT in 2nd gear to 3rd and no bog...at all. I did it again and the pull was amazing. I'm certain this is the spacers at work since thats the only real mod I did in the past 2 months.

So yea...rather than "thinking" that I'm feeling a gain after I put a mod on, now I know for sure and have actual proof. Nice.

Yes! That is great to hear!

I am very glad now that I posted comments about driving with a full passenger load, because you were not a happy camper, PBN85.

Yeah, I got owned by my dad in the summer when it was in the 90s (my car runs like **** when hot) and had 4 passengers. He said it was slow And that his truck is that fast. Which is true lol. He has an f250 turbo diesel.

Spacers definitely helped in the heat, though, especially down low.

lol you probably dont notice gains in your car because you are accustomed to riding a crotch rocket! Im sure a ferrari would feel slow if you're used to one of those

funny though, I just installed my headers and it seems like I can't really feel a big difference... I'm sure its there but its not that noticable. Might also be because I just finally got them hooked up properly and fixed my o2 sensor. Im going to reset my ecu and do idle relearn, maybe that will help.

if there is nothing wrong with your idle then the idle relearn is useless... doesnt hurt to do it, but if its fine you most likely wont feel anything different
