front door problem on 2002 SE
#3
i dont think its a problem, my 2001 does the same thing. i always have to give the front doors(but not the back) a light slam in order to close them. my friend owns a 2000 camaro, and he is NEVER able to close the doors to my car, he's not used to slamming the doors.

I will be going to the dealer soon for an 1500 mile oil change. Anyone think they can fix this problem? My front driver side and back doors all close with just a gentle shut.

Thanks for the info. When you got your door fixed, what did the dealer tell you that was causing this? Did the factory put the door on incorrectly, or is it the latch? Also how long did it take them to fix the door?

The way they fix this...
...is to adjust that metal latch on the frame of the car that the door closes up against. On most cars, you need a special screwdriver to loosen those nuts, but once you do, you can slide the metal catch back and forth to adjust how tight the doors shut.
Just takes a second with the right tools.

It is the nature of the beast. The cars are so air tight that you do have to slam them to close them the first time. If a window is cracked 1/4 inch they will close very easily. Try it.
My 2k SE is the same and I've pulled on the drivers door as many as three times to close it with the windows up.
I remember in my 89 SE there were vents at the back of the rear speaker shelf to help the car breath better. Those doors closed much easier.
