Pics of Carflector on 2k2 Max
As promised here they are. Please don't mind the rather dirty car. Given the conditions of Houston weather nowadays it was tough for me to keep the car in tip-top shape.
But this serves it's purpose nevertheless.![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I don't know if I like the idea of the rubber stops being attached to the paint on the hood. It seems like it may affect the paint where they attach from the glue, and if not, the paint will not fade in that area and may look funny later on.
Why not attach the rubber stops to the 'flector, not the hood?

Useless washing it right about now with rains and extreme humidity just messing up the cleaning job ![Frown](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
As for the stops, it's not all that sticky. In fact i could easily take it off without damaging the paint. It doesn't use glue at all. Think of it as scotch tape on your hood (same exact material used)
As for fading and the like, i doubt it'll affect anything given the Carflector already provides a deep shade to the area below it. However you can put the stops on the 'flector if you wish to do so. It's a matter of preference i guess.
To answer your question why i put it on the hood and not on the 'flector. Given it's only a plain sticker/scotch tape i wasn't so sure how it held up against high temperatures. If i put it upside-down on the 'flector which gathers the most heat + effect of gravity i assumed it might unstick prematurely.

is it my eyes or does your car look totally not magestic blue? looks kinda like grey luster or even black to me. i dont doubt that it is in fact MB but it looks odd to me. maybe its because of the dirt and stuff?

I had the same reaction after i transferred the photo's from my video cam to the computer.
It is MB but i guess the combination of bad lighting and a dinky 640x480 video cam (photo mode) made the car look darker than it is.
Check out my sig for the real color on my car using a real camera![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Understand completely about the dirt ... especially with the drenching we got this afternoon (at least on the north end of town).
Not too sure about the carflector. I had one on my 91 Pathfinder SE 4x4 and I didn't notice that the rubber bumps had removed themselves from one end .... long story short I had to have the hood repainted due to the damage from the deflector. Most the bumps could have been missing is 2 weeks.
Keep a close eye on those bump stops.
We really need to stir up a meet in Houston.

matt: you're welcome. i'm looking forward to your dyno as well. i'm still following up on my appointment to see if i can reschedule so i can join you for a run
vandi: i'll keep in mind your word of caution. so far i've got all 3 stops still sticking. i just hope it'll hold up during the summer. A meet would be cool. i've got something up my sleeve. watch for it.![Wink](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Everyone else, I got mine on E-Bay brand new still in it's original box for $33. It might be worth a try checking out that site every now and then.
