Driver's 1 touch - doesn't

The 1-touch window switch on the driver's side has just started to act up on me.

The passenger side works fine.

When I press the driver's side it will go down a few inches and stop. Another press and it will go down a few more inches and stop. And so on.

When I try to pull up to put the window up, it doesn't work (as in doesn't roll up all the way). If I pull it all the way up (to activate the 1-touch up), it will start to roll up, then immediately stop and roll all the way back down.

In order to put the window up, I have to pull up, but not to the point that the 1-touch should activate, and hold it until it is completely closed.

I saw this thread - http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...lly-fixed.html - about the motor control needing to be reset. How do I do that?

I've also seen the threads about the key fob possibly being an issue. I haven't changed the battery yet, but I don't think that is it. The car does it even without the key fob being in range of the car.

Trying to put the windows down with the key fob ends up with the same thing - window will only go down a few inches, while the passenger window goes completely down.

Any ideas?

doubt it's a keyfob issue but a reset will not hurt
here is the procedure:
window reset

I had trouble finding the reset switch, it's about 6 inches above the speaker in the 10 oc'lock position from the speaker...you can't see it because of the weather protective stuff but feel you way around.....I imagine if you have big hands it might be easier to take the door card off and reset then

Thanks! I guess I'll give it a try.

I've already had the door off to replace the speaker a couple of months ago, so I guess it won't be too bad to pull it off again.
