CATBACK help

Ok here it is.. Installed OBX R headers, and it wasn't enough, so I purchased a Tsundo (NOPI) Catback (Thanks to Maxurlife) and I have a drone from hell. I attempted to install my stock muffler in hopes of killing the sound of that da** muffler the catback came with. and that failed the two flanges wont meet up with one another so ill be headed to the exhaust shop tomorrow, anyone have any idea what my outcome will be?? will it be quieter, will the sound be the ideal sound for a 5.5 gen, I'm a auto as well so drone is my issue.

Mods: OBX R headers, Tsundo catback + stock muffler, NWP spacers, NWP block off plate.

Clips would be great if any are available

I have done the same as you, except I just have a y-pipe, and I like the sound that comes out with the stock muffler welded into the piping. It drones a ton less (IMO) with the stock muffler placed back on, but there is a bit of rasp in it. I will get that fixed at a later date (when more money is available), but it isn't horrible (will be based on ones own opinion though). I will try to get a clip of it soon for you.

here it is, it is less refined a sound than I usually allow, but money is low, so I have to live with it. Gets raspy up top too. I believe it has to do with the warpspeed y-pipe. It may be different with your header setup

Resonator the key

Does the Tsudo have a built in resonator? It seems whenever the word "raspy" comes up resonators are the answer.

I did a lot of research on catback systems and made sure I bought one that has a built in resonator... Megan OE-S. Now I'm just waiting very impatiently for it to finally arrive after being on backorder nation wide. UGH...

Resonator would be my first guess at fixing your problem. Dunno if a muffler will fix raspy as that noise seems to generate from the y-pipe and mid pipe.

You install your headers yourself?

I think that his is like most other catbacks that can be bought of e-bay in that it probably has only a 16 inch resonator(small compared to our stock one which is around 26 inches IIRC). I have heard that the cattman, and probably other more expensive catbacks have larger resonators.

or like like on ebay, you can get a 22" resonator (same size as cattman) or even 30"s

Try a longer resonator(22") along, with the Oem rear muffler. The Cattman and factory resonators are the same leght 22", I would go with Magnaflow's 4" round x 22" body lenght!

If your using your stock axleback, then you would just have a Tsundo B-pipe, not a Catback. Should have just left the stock exhaust, a B-pipe alone is worth about +1 HP.
