Hey guys, im deciding whether or not to swap my frost leather interior out for black. i have a 2003 and the car i would be getting the interior from is a 2000. my main concern is the airbags, will the 2000 air bags plug right in to wire harness in my 2003? im assuming everything else should plug right up, right? please help me out guys. Id appreciate any help or tips you can give to help me out with this swap. thanks

 

I can tell you that the two seat air bags will work I don't know about the steering wheel air bag. Just remember to have the battery disconnected before you unplug the air bags. You might want to call or better yet go to a Nissan dealer and see if they can pull up the part to see if the plugs are interchangeable.

Also keep in mind that the front seats are a different style from 00 to 03, the 03's look better and are more comfortable and offer a little more support. 3 years more wear also.....

 

i would stick with the 03 personally, much better design and quality IMO. But if you do decide to go with the swap, its a dirrect swap as long as you don't have memory seats in the 03, if you do, then you'll have to swap out the tracks with the motors and the computer thats under the seat. The seat airbags will plugg up with no problem (if both of them have them). If your car has seat airbags, make sure the other seats have them too.

Make sure you unplug your battery before you start and don't plugg it in untill everything is plugged up and connected.

If you're swapping dash and steering airbags, they are not interchange 100% with the 2000 Maxima.

If you trip your airbag light, there are reset prcedures on the forum.

Why go back in time for these. I would imagine the 03's are much better.

A used set of seatcovers should run about $200, just remove your leather and swap out
