Reflash for O2 issue, whats that going to cost?

Guys as some of you read I had P0139 and P1147, bank 1 sensor2, replaced it yesterday, pretty easy, took all of 15 minutes. Picked up the part for 88 bucks from Oreilly (its a bosch part). Light came back on less than 10 miles later. Cleared ECU it came back on this morning so I guess I need the reflash.

Anyone know what the stealership si going to charge me for that ****? It takes all of 10 minutes I'm assuming.

It takes no time at all but they charge like $100 I think. Check the code first, maybe its another sensor now?

I checked the code bro, its the same ones 0139 and 1147, sensor is brand spanking new, checked connections and its solid so I think itsa reflash deal.

It takes longer than 10 minutes. Around an hour using the CONSULTII. I paid them iirc 75-85, basically for an hours labor but I did get a referral to a specific service advisor who I think hooked me up. Regardless, that cleared up my O2 codes.

I am in your shoes, I would have replaced it with original Denso OEM sensor. There are too many reports of Bosch sensor and/or plugs having problems with typical Japenese cars.

IIRC OEM sensors are made by Bosch. I have replaced mine with Bosch sensors from Autozone and had no problems.

Just to confirm, Bank 1 is the exhaust manifold closest to the firewall, and sensor 2 is behind the precat. You should not need to go to the dealer for a reflash, just disconnect your battery for a couple hours to clear the codes. I'm thinking you either replaced the wrong sensor, replaced the correct one with a shotty part that was bad, or have another underlying issue sparking these codes.

**And Kudos to you for trying to get the car in good running order before sale and not being the a** who tries to cover up the issues.

I replaced the same sensor last week, I used denso which cost me $60 for the senor. The next day I went to autozone and clear the code. The SES light never came back on.

We used the diagram in that thread as well as my buddies shopkey diagrams. I replaced the bank 1 sensor 2 it was the one with the white sheath, it was on the front side of the cat per the diagram.

Resetting the ECU has been done three times now the code comes back, Nissan TSB states that the ECU may need a reflash after talking with the local service depts they confirmed that may be the case because the original ECU specs were not correct for the O2 sensors, the flash fixes that. Given the fact that the code comes on within two drives instead of the normal three I am thinking it is an ECU issue.

I hope the sensor is not bad, that would just **** me off. I think the odds of that are pretty slim. So hopefully thats not the case.

edit: one more thing, I dont like selling vehicles in ill condition, my car is in great condition especially the interior, exterior has a few minor chips and rock chips as you'd expect on an 8 year old car...but I've got all the records, keep my stuff in good shape and as a result I usually get a good premium when I sell them. I'm not comfortable selling a car with an SES unless I happen to sell to someone who is familiar with Maxima's and knows its not really an issue that affects driveability. I need to get it taken care of...dealer quoted me 90 bucks on the reflash which is decent.
