license plate lights r out

Cops use ANY little infraction as an excuse to pull-over a vehicle if they "suspect" additional illegal activity -- it's called probable cause.
And yes -- it IS an attempt to "interdict" other illegal activities whether they are obvious or not.
Profiling? Subjective interpretation?? Overstepping their authority??? Sure it is. But most cops will tell you: big arrests are made from smaller traffic stops more than 50% of the time. Statistics don't lie -- and THAT is why they do it. It is EFFECTIVE.
The truth of the matter is, you WERE probably booming your big-*** dual 12" subs thru a quiet neighborhood, and got dinged for the light out AND your idiocy with the stereo.
it's not your RIGHT to play your stereo on 11 where other people have to tolerate the noise.
Needless to say -- you got "profiled" and you got pulled-over.
B.S.?? maybe -- but that's how it is.
I've been pulled-over and ticketed for speeding twice this month....one of which WAS somewhat questionable.
But I sucked-it-up....admitted i was speeding and just DEALT with it.
Had it JUST been a simple lightbulb, and you gave the cop no attitude, or REASON to give you a ticket -- you probably would not have gotten the ticket, and a simple warning.
Sure -- some cops are COMPLETE walking hardons....but generally, they're not going to write a ticket JUST for an LP lite.
Command the respect you deserve.

Update:
The ticket was never in the system, I called 2 weeks later because I forgot about the ticket and it was never put in the system so it was either harassment or training so i paid nothing it was a big waste of my time

Yeah here in Rochester, NY I got pulled over for having one of my Fog lights went out, like really? He didn't give me a ticket tho he just was warning me lol. Sometime Fogs lights failed to start just gotta turn off and turn on then both will go on :/
Anyway to your issue I'd say check fuse and or change bulb really... not that hard.
