Water in Catch Can

My oil catch can seems to be collecting dirty water instead of oil. The oil on my dip stick is fine. I haven't changed the oil to see what it looks like.

Any ideas what could be causing the water in the catch can?

I would think it's simple water vapors especially if your in a high humid region of the country. Since air is drawn into the engine's (PCV system) and thru it. I'm sure it's simply humidity...

There is an extremely far out chance that your headgaskets are bad and coolant is getting into the crank case and then evaporating when you run the engine causing the water vapors to come out through the PCV valve.

Im not even sure that that's possible though.

He would see that with his dip stick if there was coolant leaking past a head gasket! I call it the loco mocho when you get that brownish whipped cream on your dip stick!

I live in Charlotte, NC and I've had a catch can on for over 2 years and i've never seen anything but dark black dirty oil in it. Unless other folks in high humidity areas have seen the light brown oil mixture in their catch cans, i don't see high humidity as a culprit.

there are so many varying factors that it's hard tell the reason unless the mixture is tested.
