Timing Chain
Timing Chain
Okay, I found this link in you tube while browsing around, Has anyone had this issue with their Timing Chain? My car does it when i drive for a long time when i barely accelerate. If i accelerate fast the sounds stops. IDK if this is good for the car. This sound mostly happens when i need oil cahange. After i changed my oil change, 5k miles later It starts again. I use Penzoil 10W-40 sice i drive 35 miles a day at aroung 85 MPH, i mostly do my oil change every 3k miles. What do you guys think?

There were a few times where i let it run to 5k miles because i didnt have the time to change it at 3k. Now that you mentioned that, i just recall having an issue where my oil pan gasket was no good and it was leaking oil. Maybe thats the reason it stopped the sound
i havent heard it for a while because i kept changing it every 3k miles. right now i let it drive to 4k n still no sound. I just wanted to bring up this subject to see if anyone else had this issue just in case my sound came back.

Recommendation by the manufacturer is changing the oil every 3,750 miles, so 4k isn't that far off.

I think this has been discussed a few times.

Nothing is wrong unless the sound starts lasting longer and longer. The TSB says a very short noise is considered normal.
