Stupid floor mat clip... any ideas?

I recently had a system installed with amp under the driver seat. They pulled carpet to run wires and took of the little clip that holds the floor mat in place. I cant get it to go back in and it keeps popping off.... the damn floor mat is all over the place. Clips aren't broken but I cant get it to stay back in. Anybody else had this problem? got any ideas?

You could try using a couple of strips of 1" wide and 6" long velcro, some is sold with a sticky glue backing but I find adding some crazy glue to help make it stick more permanent. Attach the female side of the velcro to the back of the carpet and the male side of the velco to the floor area and then just press them together to hold, using velcro will allow you to easily pull up the carpet if and when you need to.

Here's what I did and it works perfectly. I cut a regular zip-tie at an angle and slid it through with the point towards the seat. I've been using the same zip-tie for over 4 years now. It's easy to take out and put back in but it never comes out on it's own.

Those are both pretty clever ideas. Simple ingenuity at work, guys. Is there nothing velcro can't fix? I don't think so.

When you had the carpet pulled out, did you notice all the little white plastic tie-downs throughout? You know, the kind they sometimes use to attach tags to new shirts and pants. Those things always nagged at me, but not enough to figure out what they were or if I could remove them.

Hope you don't mind my asking... it's kind of carpet related.

Mine never came with clips, just the little nib to pop the carpet over. I'm learning something new every day. Tell us what you came up with.
